Introduction

Hello! My name is Kayla and this is my fourth semester at Sierra College.  I am currently working as a caregiver full time, but am a trained medical assistant by trade.  I am enrolled in an EMT course to begin the process of becoming a paramedic in the near future.  I am currently enrolled in 12.5 units, so my schedule is very packed.

My hobbies are dancing and running.  I am preparing for a 5K in January and hope to be ready by then.  I am looking forward to this class and the semester.

  1. What EMT class are you in? Sierra or NCTI? Who is your instructor??? What made you decide to go in this direction? Good luck with your 5k! They are fun! Just a word of advice, study hard in your EMT class, once you get behind its difficult to get back your grade. AND the most important thing I could pass on,... WORK as an EMT before you go to paramedic school. It is crucial to your career. If you really want to be in this field, its worth the wait, even if its just 6 months experience before you start medic school. Just a friendly tip. Good luck!

  2. I am in Chris Greene's class on Mondays. I am doing the course through Roseville Gateway and I love this class so much! I already am a medical assistant and wanted to further explore the medical field. Thank you for the advice. I will take with me the advice and move forward.
